Dr. Schipper is an Associate Professor of Economics and Data Analytics at the University of St. Thomas. His research spans economic growth and development, macroeconomics, and forecasting, with particular emphasis on how informal firms shape aggregate outcomes in developing economies and how data revisions affect economic forecasts. Much of his work is conducted with student researchers. He has been a faculty member at St. Thomas since 2014.
