Her teaching philosophy includes ensuring that students and the professor are engaged in the learning process and bringing in practical, real-world examples and exercises to the classroom.
Ferrise’s research focuses on understanding how applicant’s personal political affiliation information affects raters’ assessments of job applicants and employee’s future job performance.
Before becoming a professor, she worked in the international humanitarian aid industry for five years. Focusing on project management and evaluation, she provided technical expertise to 15-20 field offices around the world, as well as, to teams responding to emergent situations such as war, natural disaster, and disease outbreak.
