Dr. Chris Haas is an Engineering Fellow for the University of St Thomas College of Engineering with over 25 years of industry experience at 3M and Gemalto. His early research work included processing biodegradable/renewable resource polymers, foams, and oriented films. From 2001 through 2020 he developed currency, passport, and identification card products, including novel currency substrates, passport security features, and card technologies where his products generated over $250 MM worth of revenue and eighteen patents. Since 2021 he has been involved in PFAS remediation of 3M factories.
