Casey Frid studies entrepreneurship and strategy and has published papers in top academic journals on topics ranging from early stage business creation to collaborative strategies among firms. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship at University of St. Thomas, Minnesota. Dr. Frid teaches courses on entrepreneurial thinking and strategy in the graduate and undergraduate programs, and he has given seminars on these topics at the University of Queensland, Technical University of Munich, Illinois State University, College of Charleston, and Technical University of Darmstadt.
Dr. Frid's current research examines how conforming to normative expectations in the craft beer industry affects founders and their ventures. His work has been featured in a number of government policy papers and practitioner-focused publications, including Ad Age, the European Commission, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
