Introduction

Dr. Thompson is an Assistant Professor of Catholic Studies. She received her PhD in English Literature from the University of Virginia and taught great books at Villanova University and St. John's College before coming to Catholic Studies. Her current research describes and theorizes the work of contemporary poets who engage with the book's material form. Dr. Thompson's scholarship on the poet Susan Howe won the 2023 William Riley Parker Prize for an outstanding article in PMLA, the journal of the Modern Language Association.
