My research explores relationships between people, experiences, and outcomes. I employ mixed-method data collection techniques from the social sciences to understand how humans create/experience environmental events, programs, and policies; these insights can inform intervention design and implementation to help meet desired outcomes.
As an instructor, I work to promote active, interdisciplinary engagement across difference. Engagement in the classroom includes meaningful interaction with me, ideas in the course materials, other students, diverse stakeholders in the wider community, and with the physical environment. Engagement across difference promotes a wide variety of positive outcomes, including personal growth, improved analytical and communication skills, enhanced creativity, and hopefully, a commitment to making the world a better place.
