Introduction

Stephanie Dehning Grimm, PhD is a Professor and Department Chair of Accounting. She earned a Ph. D. in Business Administration (Accounting) and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Minnesota and a B.S.(Finance) from Boston University. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Professor Grimm teaches Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis and Global Experience / Study Abroad Courses. Her teaching and scholarship have been recognized with the following awards: 3rd place in IMA Educational Case Journal's Sustainability/DEI Case Competition (IMA 2023), Deloitte Faculty Fellow (Opus College of Business 2020), Bea Sanders / AICPA Innovation in Accounting Education Award (AAA Annual Meeting 2019), Julie Hays Teaching Award (Opus College of Business 2017), Best Education Paper Award (AAA Midwest Region Meeting 2014). In 2018, she served as a faculty director for the London Business Semester.

Grimm's research interests include accounting education and accounting quality. She has published her research in Issues in Accounting Education, Journal of Accounting Education, Research on Professional Responsibility and Ethics in Accounting, and Advances in Accounting Education.
