Introduction

Dr. Paul Mellick is an Associate Professor and the chair in the Department of Health and Exercise Science. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (2005) and Master of Arts (2006) from the College of St. Scholastica, both in Exercise Physiology. Prior to coming to the University of St. Thomas, Dr. Mellick spent 7 years at Winston-Salem State University as a clinical faculty member while also earning his doctorate in Kinesiology from University of North Carolina – Greensboro.

Dr. Mellick's research interests primarily lie in metabolic function and hormonal regulation, particularly their relationships to high-intensity exercise. He has also spent time as a strength coach and done research in clinical facilities as well as with elite athletes.
