Introduction

Michael O'Connor is a retired senior research program director, program management with Medtronic. He has over 40 years of professional experience and 35 years of professional experience in the medical device Industry. O'Connor received his B.A. and minor in project management from Metropolitan State University. O'Connor earned master's degrees in science at the University of St. Thomas in Technology Management and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in Project Management and finally an MBA at the University of Phoenix. O'Connor earned his Ph.D. in civil engineering, majoring in project management, from the University of Maryland, College Park, A. James School of Engineering.

He is currently a VIC Fellow at the VIC Technology Venture Studio. He has volunteered his time with many professional societies and universities/colleges over the past 25 years.

In addition to Medtronic, his corporate experience also includes 3M and Pfizer. He has also worked for three start-ups, HeartStent, Advanced UroScience and CHF Solutions.
