Professor Falconbury joined the University of St. Thomas in 2022 and became the Director of the Actuarial Science program in 2023. Prior to joining academia, Kyle was an actuarial leader at two Fortune 100 companies. He is excited to share his real-world knowledge of the insurance industry and his enthusiasm for actuarial science with the next generation of industry leaders. Professor Falconbury is an expert in Property & Casualty insurance. He practiced as an actuary for 26 years managing teams responsible for ratemaking, reserving, and product analytics. Most of his career centered on Business Insurance, notably the Public Sector, Technology, Construction, and Medical Malpractice industries. Professor Falconbury has studied the efficient frontier of customer retention dynamics and developed a new technique to estimate reserve levels for high severity, low frequency lines of business.
