Introduction
Hello! My name is Dr. Juli Kroll, and I am the Chair of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages. I also serve as Director of the Film Studies interdisciplinary program, which offers a major and minor in Film Studies, and I am the Director of Graduate Studies in Spanish. As a Professor of Spanish and a film scholar, I teach courses in Spanish language, Latin American literature, Hispanic Cinema Studies, Introduction to Film, and World Cinema. My research focuses on Latin American literature and film with emphasis on issues of gender and sexuality, indigenous identity and representation, and corporeality and cinema. With a scholarly emphasis on literary and cinematic production of Mexico, I have led student groups to both Cuernavaca and Merida.
