Introduction
I am a stratigrapher and vertebrate paleontologist and I am interested in how we use the fossil record to make ecological and evolutionary interpretations. My research is done using a combination of field work and computer modeling.
I have had the pleasure of working primarily in the Cretaceous sediments of the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument of north-central Montana, although I have also had the opportunity to work offshore Louisiana and Alabama.
At St. Thomas, I assist the faculty and students in their teaching and research efforts. I get to co-lead field trips across Minnesota, sometimes even heading to Arkansas or Nevada (hopefully on to Spain and Iceland in the future!). You can find me across the department helping students cut rocks and make thin sections, analyzing samples using the Scanning Electron Microscope and handheld X-Ray Fluorescent gun, or hauling gear to get ready for labs and field trips.
