Introduction
Ameeta Jaiswal-Dale, PhD, loves teaching finance, particularly global treasury risk management. As one student observed in class: with Jaiswal-Dale, students get to spend time working on problems instead of listening to boring lectures, which helps them better learn the material. Jaiswal-Dale always has real-world experiences to share with her students.
Since joining the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business in 1990, Jaiswal-Dale has conducted research and taught undergraduate and graduate courses in derivative markets, currency and treasury risk management, corporate finance and governance. She is currently researching commodity price volatility. Her publications are a combination of empirical research and pedagogical discussions in the European Financial Management Journal, the Journal of Business Ethics, the Journal of Multinational Financial Management, the Journal of Applied Finance and Economia & Management.
Jaiswal-Dale holds visiting professor positions at EDHEC in Nice, France, and at the Université de Caen in France. She offers seminars at the Universities of Siena, Bergamo and Viterbo in Italy; at the Birla Institute of Technology (BITs) in Hyderabad, India; at Novosibirsk University in Russia; and at Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. In addition, she served as assistant dean of the Graduate Business School at St. Thomas during its transition to the College of Business.
Jaiswal-Dale received her doctorate from the Université de Rennes in France; her master's degree from Osmania University in India; and her undergraduate degree from St. Francis College in India. She is active in professional organizations, such as the Financial Management Association (FMA) and the International Business Economics Association (IBEC), serving in many capacities.
Jaiswal-Dale's outreach to the regional business community includes the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) and the French-American Chamber of Commerce Minnesota chapter (FACCMN). She served as president of the FACCMN, promoting cooperation between France and USA with business development in the life sciences and student internships. As a board member and treasurer with a number of local nonprofits, she has won many awards, including the FMA/CIBER Award for the best international case study and the Global Citizenship Award to International Education Founders.
