Abstract
Focusing on the well documented pro-Semitic views of Hans Christian Andersen and the anti-Semitic views of Søren Kierkegaard, Paul Houe, professor of Scandinavian languages and literature at the University of Minnesota, surveyed the landscape of pro- and anti-Semitic sentiments in Danish/Nordic 19th century culture and society.
