Abstract
This presentation is a part of the Theology Department's lecture series, New Frontiers in Theological Research. Dr. Michael Hollerich is Professor of Theology at the University of St. Thomas, where his specialization is the history of Christianity, particularly the ancient and the modern periods. He is working on a book on Eusebius (d. 339), bishop of Caesarea in ancient Palestine, the leading Christian scholar of his time and the author of the first Christian universal history, the first Church history, and a biography of Constantine the Great (d. 337), the first Christian emperor. Dr. Hollerich will discuss how Eusebius applied Jesus' command "to teach all nations" to the world of the Roman Empire.
