- Annotation
- Comparison study situating Camus s L tranger 1942) and Lawrence s Sun within the context of Hemingway s theory of omission. Stoltzfus examines how each author s work exhibits the tip of the iceberg while successfully conveying the submerged psychological and philosophical content found in their nonfiction writings such as Camus s Le Mythe de Sisyphe (1942) and Lawrence s Apocalypse (1931) and Sketches of Etruscan Places (1932). Stoltzfus focuses on Lawrence s reworking of the iceberg principle in his story of the sensuousness of the cosmos. References The Sun Also Rises and Big Two-Hearted River.
