Abstract
The use of the Audit Command Language auditing software package in the auditing course at the University of St. Thomas is examined. Students used the educational version of the ACL program to perform audit procedures on data files developed by accounting faculty at Bentley College. It is described how using a software package can help students develop skills necessary for forensic accounting and fraud auditing Why some auditing instructors might choose to use the educational version of ACL is explored and the material developed by Gelinas et al., despite the availability of auditing textbooks that come with an auditing software package.
