- Annotation
- This note explores the Hemingway and Hall family connections to Massachusetts. After a discussion of Grace Hall Hemingway s childhood visits to Nantucket, the argument examines the trip Hemingway took to Massachusetts with his mother when he was eleven years old in 1910 (the voyage was a rite of passage for all the Hemingway children when they turned eleven). This journey influenced Hemingway s earliest surviving piece of fiction, My First Sea Vouge.
