- Annotation
- Responds to Allen Josephs s To the Editor regarding Hogge s review of Gerry Brenner s The Old Man and the Sea: Story of a Common Man (1991). Objecting to reading the novella through only a humanistic lens, Hogge criticizes Josephs s argument as emotional and containing fallacious reasoning. Hogge challenges critics to read Brenner s book and examine for themselves the evidence Brenner uses to support his interpretation. See Josephs in Hemingway Review 12, no. 2 (Spring 1993): 116-18.
