Abstract
The article focuses on the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, highlighting their unique features, challenges, and controversies. For the first time, the International Olympic Committee awarded the bids for two consecutive Olympic Games, with Paris emphasizing gender parity and urban settings for events. The Seine River, a central venue for swimming and triathlon events, faced significant water quality concerns, leading to athlete illnesses and cancellations of training tests. Additionally, the Games were marked by social media dynamics, including cyberbullying incidents affecting athletes, and controversies surrounding doping allegations involving Chinese swimmers. Despite these challenges, the Games were deemed successful, selling a record number of tickets and showcasing remarkable athletic performances.
