Abstract
The 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, viewed as a triumph for Russian President Vladimir Putin for both landing the Games in Sochi and building a destination from scratch, can also be seen as a cautionary tale for future Games. Sochi's Origins On July 4, 2007 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted to select the host city for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
