Abstract
Using the interorganisational citizenship Behaviour (ICB) framework, this paper investigates the impact of three ICB variables (interorganisational altruism, interorganisational loyalty, and interorganisational compliance) on entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial orientation (EO) of social entrepreneurs. Results indicate that, although ICB does not have a direct impact on EO, one of the ICB variables, interorganisational compliance, is positively associated with social entrepreneurs’ self-efficacy. We also find a significant positive relationship between self-efficacy and EO. We discuss how perceived social support and self-efficacy can help social entrepreneurs successfully navigate the challenge of achieving the dual missions of social purpose and financial sustainability.
