Abstract
Draws on the health care literature & government Internet sites to discuss health care inequalities. The terms race, ethnicity, & ethnocentrism are defined, & methodological issues surrounding them touched on. It is suggested that disparity is experienced by those most in need of the health care system. The socioeconomic & sociocultural factors impacting access & utilization are considered, finding the former overwhelmingly present in the cited studies, while race/ethnicity trumps any value in equal access for minorities.
