Abstract
Examined previous studies of the effects of several familial variables on the development of self-esteem. In the present study, the variables of parents' self-esteem, parents' marital satisfaction, and family size were not related to the college-age participants' self-esteem; only the relationship between parental nurturance and self-esteem was significant.
