- The famous restaurant Botín's is mentioned several times in Ernest Hemingway's writings about Madrid. The last scene of The Sun Also Rises is especially well-known: "We lunched up-stairs at Botín's. It is one of the best restaurants in the world. We had roast young suckling pig and drank rioja alta." Even today, many Hemingway admirers go to 17 Cuchilleros Street in Madrid, to the Restaurante Sobrino de Botín, to eat suckling pig. But it is not proven that this is actually the establishment mentioned by Hemingway.
