Abstract
This paper examines the effects of introducing controller saturation on the estimated domain of attraction of a droop-controlled inverter connected to an infinite bus. Previous studies have explored the effect of operating conditions and parameters on the inverter's domain of attraction. However, in these studies controller saturation was ignored. This paper accomplishes the above by introducing a saturation function on the controller output. A Takagi-Sugeno Multimodel Linear Matrix Inequality was used to show the effect of the saturation function on the estimated domain of attraction. Simulation results were used to illustrate the results of the estimated domains. Results highlight the importance of including the controller saturation to improve the accuracy of the estimated domain of attraction. Simplified models may be able to correctly estimate the stable domains of many saturated system states.
