Moriani describes the author s 1948 return trip with fourth wife, Mary Welsh, where he spent time writing, hunting, fishing, traveling with the Italian translator of A Farewell to Arms, and socializing with Adriana Ivancich (inspiration for Renata of Across the River and into the Trees).
