Annotation: Concludes that the later cinematic versions of The Sun Also Rises (1957), A Farewell to Arms (1957), The Old Man and the Sea (1958), The Killers (1964), and Islands in the Stream (1977) move toward a more collaborative vision of author and filmmaker. Grissom argues that decreasing restrictions by the Hemingway estate following the author s death have led to an even greater incorporation of Hemingway s life and works into film.
