Abstract
Abstract This chapter provides the historical context of the advocacy skill set within the health education profession. It shows how the concepts presented in the first three chapters relate to public health education. This provides readers opportunities to make connections regarding where health professionals will best use their skills, knowledge of how to build their skill set, and ways to practice to see how they can advocate within their unique settings and health areas. The health education profession adapts and grows with the times. These changes are explored while providing the competency-based frameworks that will set leaders up for success in the field.
