Abstract
The fourth edition introduces many new contributing authors addressing topics such as establishing a teaching practice, composing, technology, entrepreneurship, fingering, practicing, developing technique, pedaling, memorization, and performance. A special focus is devoted to research affecting the brain and performance anxiety. Suitable teaching literature for the young and advancing pianist is suggested and analyzed. Important piano teacher organizations and historical insights round out the many chapters which are intended to generate thought and discussion.
